Letter from the Publisher
It is with deep sadness that we report the passing of longtime past Editor-in-Chief of D.C. Tracts, Dr. Vincent Lucido, on May 21st, 2024.
Dr. Lucido played a significant advisory role in the initial launch of D.C. Tracts, and began serving on the Editorial Board beginning with Volume 2. With Volume 12 he took over as Editor-in-Chief, and led the publication through Volume 30 when Dr. Bryan Bond received the reigns.
Many longtime readers will remember the unique insight Dr. Lucido instilled through each of his issues, from his valuable commentary on each special topic to the care he put into curating each team of authors. Building upon the journal’s foundational years, Dr. Lucido’s enthusiasm, integrity and creativity was instrumental in shaping the publication that has endured through today.
Dr. Lucido graduated from the Chiropractic Institute of New York in 1962. However, he did not begin his practice in Lakeland, FL until 1966, after being drafted into the US Army (serving as a typist for the Criminal Division in Omaha, as he was the only recruit in his cohort who could type). Dr. Lucido went on to build a prolific chiropractic career, which included serving as President of the Florida Chiropractic Association, the American Chiropractic Association and the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research, as well as Director of the National Chiropractic Mutual Insurance Company.
Dr. Lucido’s passion for teaching and guiding fellow physicians, and most importantly for ensuring the highest possible quality of care for every patient, will not be forgotten in our field. We are so fortunate not only for his longtime dedication to our journal, but to have called him a friend.
Sincerely,
Data Trace Publishing Company and the D.C. Tracts Editorial team
